He who speaks on his own authority.

As Fulton Sheen once said; "I feel it is time I pay tribute to my four writers—Matthew, Mark, Luke and John." So for today, here is my thought for this Sunday article ... from the Book of John, Chapter 7, verse 14.

"About the middle of the feast, Jesus went up to the temple and taught. Other Jews marveled at it, saying, "How is it this man has learning", when he has never studied?" So Jesus answered them, "My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me; if any man's will is to do his will, he shall know wheter the tearchin is from God or wheter I cam speakking on my own athourity. He who speaks on his own authority seeks his own glory; but he who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and in him there is no falsehood."

When I read this, I was overwealmed at how instructive this passage is in explaining the Modern American Christian Cosnervative.

Dirty rotten liberals are always criticisin Right Wing heeros liek Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity & Bill O'Really ... and the dozens upon dozens of Right Wing Radidio Talkin Heads that have spread acrost America liek a swarm of passion spewin locusts.

But I say ... Beck, Hannity, Limbaugh et all... are righteous precisely because that DO NOT speak for themselves. For verily I say unto y'all - as it is written in John 14, these pious men speak for a Higher Authority.

Who then is the Higher Authority that I speak of? This answer is simple: the Australian media tycoon, Rupert Murdoch.

Verily I say to y'all, had Rupert Murdoch come to America and personally preach his Gospel of resentment, distrust, and cynicism ... we Christian Conservatives would have denounced him as a preacher of negativity ... a foreign interloper ... who has no respect for the integrity of traditional American values.

However, like a 'fisher of men', Rupert sought out the people who could most effectively spread his message for him. 

Close observers of FOX will see that there is a common bond that unites those that Murdoch has collected in his net. That common bond, my freinds ... is "passion".  Passion is what the Modern Christian Conservative is all about. Many of us joined Evangelical churches from Catholic, Presbyterian, and Episcopal churches because ... well ... there just wasn't enough PASSION ... or enough rock music.

You libbies won't liek what I'm saying here. But as PROOF that the people working for FOX do not speak for themselves ... I give you the link below.

Glenn Beck - Rage for Hire

See? Glenn Beck USED to bemoan the sorry state of the American Health Care system.  But after Glenn Beck moved to FOX ... he raged  ... PASSIONATELY ... AGAINST any effort to change the current state of Health Care in America - which he NOW calls the "Best in the World".

See? Glenn Beck does NOT speak for himself - he speaks for a ... Higher Authority ... Rupert Murdoch.

As a foreigner come to our shores, Rupert Murdoch, in his role as a 'Fisher of Men' has hired personalities who have exhibited a like-minded disregard for traditional American values ... for integrity, for honor, and even for our judicial system.

G. Gordon Liddy, this fellow was hired by Rupert Murdoch even though he was indicted and sentenced to a 20 year prison term for violation of our laws. (This was later commuted to 8 years by none other than Jimmy Carter ... a man most reviled by us Christian Conservatives ... for he actually DID apply Christian Values to his administration ... something we Christian Conservatives consider to be self aggrandizing and venal ... and contrary to our ongoing struggle to demonize our competitor ... the federal government.)

As an example of Liddy's disregard for American citizens ... on August 26, 1994, Liddy preached this message to us:

"Now if the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms comes to disarm you and they are bearing arms, resist them with arms. Go for a head shot; they're going to be wearing bulletproof vests." ... "They've got a big target on there, ATF. Don't shoot at that, because they've got a vest on underneath that. Head shots, head shots.... Kill the sons of bitches."

This message of death ... directed towards fathers, brothers, mothers, sisters ... really resonates with Christian Conservatives throughout America - for ... Christian Conservatives also have little respect for government. To Christian Conservatives, government is NOT an expression of a shared aspirations for a better world - but rather a nefarious usurper of our rightful place ... as Christians ... to be the arbiter of what is righteous and good.


Look, Christian Conservatives don't WANT children to have access to Health Care ... not if GOVERNMENT provides it! Of course, CHRISTIANS will never provide it ... but if we can defeat any government effort ... it's liek we are defeating our largest competitor.

And we will use any lie or fabrication to impose the Christian Conservative pov. For instance, we will claim that Insurance Companies are Righteous - even when they kill fellow citizens. Just as we say that government is Evil ... because they try to interfere with Insurance Companies.


But I digress ... let's look at another example of a Talking Head 'netted' by Rupert Murdoch.

Oliver North. We Christian Conservatives have sublimated our morals so as to honor Oliver North for selling drugs and funneling money to death squads in Nicaragua. Why do Christian Conservatives love 'Ollie'? Because he disrespected Congress! He went behind their back...  and supported murderers in Nicaragua. The fact that he sold drugs to pursue this goal is insignificant to any Modern American Christian set of morals.

Just as it says in John Verse 7.14 through 18 ... Oliver North is speaking for a higher authority ... Rupert Murdoch - a man who came to our shores to promote his own vision ... and to shape our nation to match that vision. But you libbies just don't get this - and you probably never will.

And what of Rush Limbaugh? What is his Master, you ask? The answer is simple - Rush Limbaugh's master is ... hearing his own voice ... and the ringing cash register.
